Controlling Specialist - The Bristol Bol

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Controlling Specialist to join the pre-opening team at The Bristol Bol. This role will be instrumental in establishing financial control processes, supporting budget planning, monitoring costs, and ensuring accurate financial reporting during the pre-opening and operational phases. The ideal candidate will contribute to sound financial decision-making and support management in achieving strong financial performance. Experience within luxury hospitality and hotel pre-opening environments will be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepares analyses of specific business segments and operational aspects based on available data and reports
Compiles, analyzes, and improves all standardized and ad-hoc management reports
Participates in the preparation of periodic, annual, and multi-year planning and budgeting processes
Assists in the preparation and updates of regular departmental reports as needed
Analyzes the overall business performance of the company based on accounting and operational data
Performs cost center accounting and analyzes costs of individual departments
Continuously monitors, analyzes, and reports on financial and operational results in order to improve business efficiency
Participates in the preparation of financial forecasts and proposals for the business plan and monitors its execution
Participates in cost classification and defines cost allocation criteria
Monitors the performance of projects, initiatives, and campaigns
Actively cooperates with the Accounting Department
Monitors regulations and standards related to financial and management reporting
Defines, measures, and monitors organizational performance indicators (KPIs)
Verification and control of received accounting data prior to the preparation of monthly reports
Preparation of daily reports, balance sheet and cash flow statements

Qualifications:

Previous experience in controlling, finance, or a similar role (hospitality experience is an advantage)
Hotel pre-opening experience is a plus
Good analytical skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
Organized, reliable, and able to meet deadlines
Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with financial systems is a plus
Fluency in English and Croatian is required
